GUERNSEY FLIGHTS RETURN TO NORWICH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Norwich Airport again offers flights and holidays to Guernsey, thanks to Flybe and Premier Holidays. Flights direct from Norwich will be available from 15 May to 25 September 2010 on Saturdays

The second largest of the Channel Islands and full of natural beauty, it provides a relaxing environment for a peaceful getaway. Renowned as a walker’s paradise Guernsey’s coastal paths take you through pine forests and past rocky coves. Head for the north and west coasts dominated by brightly coloured fishing boats and small rocky inlets. You can also follow the inland routes where peaceful lanes with high hedges of wild flowers front traditional Guernsey cottages.

Guernsey offers something for everyone. St Peter Port’s quaint, cobbled High Street is lined with modern shops and boutiques, and the 19th Century Market Halls are a scene of brisk activity as the pick of the local crops from both land and sea. There are many historic places to visit from Medieval architecture of the Castle Cornet to the very moving German underground hospital and German Occupation Museum. All manner of sporting activities are also available in Guernsey including water sports, golf, cycling, horse riding and tennis.

“Guernsey is back by popular demand. We continue to work with airlines and tour operators to bring back the destinations which local people want,” commented Elliott Summers, the airport’s Managing Director:

“As the leading tour operator to Guernsey, we’re pleased to be working with Flybe on the new Norwich to Guernsey summer route,” says Susan Papworth, Managing Director of Premier Holidays.

“Our sales to Guernsey have solidly increased this year as people enjoy the island’s French influences and the benefit of a European holiday without the Euro. We have had a high number of forward booking enquiries for trips to Guernsey and expect the Flybe route will be a fantastic addition to the programme in 2010.”
