I haven't seen any suggestion that Flybe are considering operating the EMB175 or 195 at SEN and I rather doubt that they would. The 195s are planned to leave the fleet anyway as I understand it and I can't think of any routes which would require the 175 rather than the Q400. In general they seem to use the 175 mainly on business routes such as those from BHX to European destinations where they are up against existing jet competition.
To answer your question I think the 175 would be payload limited to some extent as the aircraft is known for its poor runway performance needing some 2,200 metres Take-Off Distance at max weight. I think SEN will remain Q400 territory for Flybe should they plan any expansion there. I do wonder if SEN-JER might be better as a Q400 route in place of the current easyJet service which doesn't seem to be achieving very good results at its present 2 x weekly summer schedule.

It's reported on PPRuNe today that Flybe have entered a codeshare agreement with Aer Lingus which will allow continued through bookings from SEN to/from the USA via their DUB services which replace the existing Aer Lingus Regional route at the end of October. Apparently these will be bookable on the Aer Lingus website wef 25 August 2014.
It's certainly good news that this capability is being retained as I believe it is well used currently.

That is indeed good news that the through bookings from SEN to and from the USA will continue when Flybe take over the route.I wonder if Flybe or through the Stobart/Flybe franchise have any more plans to add extra routes from SEN for Summer 2015, i believe that Stobart still have options on up to 4 more ATR72-600s which they have to make a decision about soon, although i relise that even if they do take up these options they could also be used to expand their Aer Lingus Regional services.I suppose will will have to wait and see.

It will be interesting to see the provisional CAA stats later today. That should give some idea as to how Stobart's new routes are faring. Certainly the French routes seem to be well patronised, but Munster has apparently seen light loads........

The SEN-CFR and SEN-RNS routes are now bookable on the Air France website as a result of the recently negotiated codeshare agreement.

Does anyone know why today's Caen is showing as cancelled? Surely it would not be affected by the AFR pilots strike?

It's an error on the website: SEN-CFR doesn't operate on Tuesdays at this time of year.

Interesting video, especially passing through border control at SEN. The key thing, as we know, is the ease with which a traveller from the continent can pass through the terminal, step onto the station and be in London within an hour or so of landing. If that message can be got out to the local business community in Rennes - and in Caen, Antwerp, Maastricht, Groningen and Munster as well - then passenger numbers should surely grow from the small numbers shown on this flight.

Couple of bits of news for today (21/10/14) :
1) Flybe / Loganair charter flight (LOG847) from MAN to SEN arrived at 12:05 (scheduled 11:05), and is due to depart again to MAN at 23:30 (LOG848). I believe this is a football related charter but still confusion over which team it was used by. Aircraft is G-LGNB.
2) I also note that in Caen, as a result of the new SEN-CFR route, a new bus link (as of 24 October 2014*) will be introduced linking the city centre and the airport to improve connectivity for business pax. Beforehand passengers would have to get either a taxi or walk a mile to the nearest bus stop. *6 euros each way, buses operate on flight days only (4 weekly).

1) Preston North End I think - playing Gillingham.
2) You are extremely observant as we only notified Flybe/Stobart/SEN of the new CFR bus shuttle this morning! Where did you see news of it by the way?
