AMBITIOUS plans to establish an annual Cleethorpes Air Show could soon be set for take-off with organisers claiming that the proposed event could net the town millions of pounds.
The final decision into allowing the region's first ever aerial display day to take place now rests in the hands of council chiefs as air show committee members wait with bated breath for the outcome – scheduled for next week.
As reported, plans to get an international air show off the ground in Cleethorpes were first propelled towards serious consideration 18 months ago.
And now, after many months of gruelling work, organisers are beginning to dare to dream that the skies around the resort will be filled with the roar of Lancaster Bomber and Spitfire engines as early as August 21 2011.
