That is why it's not a good idea to become too reliant on Ryanair...

Not sure how many routes they usually operate during the winter from ALC, as they might just be using this as a gimmick, but I know exactly what you mean and Im sure the management aren't relying on FR. As they say though, beggars cant be choosers....

It maybe a gimmick if these cuts are purely winter only. DSA goes every winter for example. The risk has to be though that FR will cut back there for Summer 2012 as well. Plus ALC's operators also operate practically every other airport in Spain, which in turn could lead to less growth at other Spanish airports and less chance for HUY to attract additional FR routes
As you say though the problem for HUY is beggars cant be choosers

If the pax numbers are good this year then Ryanair would be stupid to not have flights for summer 12. Summer 2012 as a long time away, fingers crossed some sort of agreement can be made before then.
As for this winter, the is nothing stopping them from doing the canaries which would be more popular then ALC.
Does anyone know when the winter flights go on sale?

Not so sure they would announce anything from HUY for this winter. If they are going to offer more routes then surely next summer would be more likely?

For the Canaries it probably doesn't make too much difference whether the flights are launched in Summer, November or February (as with DSA-TFS). Just probably best to avoid December or January

Flights start tomorrow, hopefully these will at least be popular.

Looks as though tomorrow's flight will be just short of a full load. Only 14 seats remain bookable through www.ryanair.com

If that is correct then that would be a 93% load (rounded up), that is in April too, and I dont believe school holidays are until next week, so hopefully this will continue for the full operating season.

School's in Hull and East Riding are on Easter Holiday next week for 2 weeks, so even better loads considering it isnt holidays yet in this area. Let's hope they keep it up and add some more routes next year!.

Its great to see HAT giving it a big push on their Facebook page, naming this week 'Benidorm Week'.
Perhaps if the numbers do remain high then there may be potential for a winter flight or two?
