The A320 is G-EZTR and is not fitted with Sharklets, as it was first thought we would get a Sharklet fitted one.

The latest version of the easyJet S14 timetable, as it stands right now, does not make good reading for SEN.
EDI is discontinued from June 14, and NQY has disappeared entirely. The third AMS service, which was to have operated until July 14 (when the NQY route resumed) now operates only until June 12 though there is a third Sunday service in Sept/Oct.
From June 13 the SXF service is rescheduled to depart SEN at 1300 but not return until 2210, suggesting the aircraft is being used on another route from SXF on a W-pattern. The rest of the routes look unchanged in terms of frequency though I have not examined the detail of the scheduling. The net reduction in the SEN operation appears to be about 9 rotations per week from mid-June onwards.
Is there more to come for SEN from EZY this or next year ? I have no idea. The statements from SEN management and easyJet that presumably will accompany the now imminent opening of the terminal extension should make interesting reading.

This is really bad news for SEN especially with the terminal extension due to open very soon, has the bubble burst?, lets hope that there is still time for new routes/airlines announcements for Summer 2014. Easyjet have been great for SEN but it just confirms the fact that relying on just one major airline is not a good thing. Any thoughts or comments from Expressflight or anyone esle?

2014 may be a quiet year for SEN, and the new owners of STN have made good progress in revitalising their operation, but with the new terminal extension at SEN there will surely be growth in the medium term. London hasn't got any further away. Keep the faith.....

As I'm in the middle of a six week escape from the UK weather in the Algarve at the moment I'm not exactly in the loop and only access the internet a couple of times a week on a veeeery slow connection. The NQY situation for S14 was odd because the ticket prices were very high from the day it was bookable, while LPL-NQY was about 50% less. It never looked to me as if holidaymakers were likely to pay those prices 9 months ahead so no wonder bookings were low. EDI was rather an oddity when it was launched at a daily middle of the day frequency, which was no use to business travellers; double-daily was surely necessary to really test its potential.
Still, perhaps a new route will be announced to fill the gap left by the EDI and NQY cancellations,
Not good overall as you say but not altogether a total surprise as they were bound to review things after 18 months or so.
The big problem is the lack of other operators and SEN really did let things slide commercially in the past six months on this I feel. All quiet on the RE front as far as I know and the longer that situation pertains the less likely is the prospect of their European routes perhaps.
At least there is now a very competent Business Devlopment Manager in post who is no doubt working hard to attract new business. All eggs in one basket was never a good idea. AW 'leaving' was certainly a mistake in my view as far as SEN's prospects are concerned.
Back to enjoying the sunshine for me anyway.
Note: Edited 28th December to add a couple of points and to keep on topic.

Thank you Expressflight for your comments enjoy the rest of your holiday, perhaps by the time you get back we may have some good news announced for SEN although i wont hold my breath on that.

I have just read comments on another site on which Easyjet state that the Edinburgh destination will still be year round to SEN, so maybe the route could be taken EDI based aircraft or a "W" is flown from another airport, still sounds asif the route is not lost.

I sincerely hope that the bubble has not burst, but if it has then I believe there will probably be rejoicing in some quarters of Network Rail whom I suspect want to see the airport station fail and thus the airport. The nonsense of no late trains has been dragging on far too long and can only harm the wider prospects of the airport. I know that there are other airports who would like and deserve better rail links, but part of the hype of the new Southend was the station and it cannot be realising its full potential.

The London Southend Airport Facebook page has now confirmed that SEN-EDI has indeed been axed, what a shame as pax loads had improved a lot since they changed the timings.

I still don't know why its so difficult to run the trains slightly earlier to cater for business passengers. It's stupid and I think it has cost the airport 2 business routes!

tws123, it's worth looking at the London Southend FB page. Someone asked that very question and received the following, rather unsatisfactory (!!) reply:
London Southend wrote: "We are still in talks with Greater Anglia (Abellio) to see if they can extend their service to cater for the early morning departures and late arrivals however this will not be a quick process."

Thanks for that devonian. I still don't understand why it should be an issue? To me it just seems ridiculously easy and they are making a mountain out of a mole hill (but that comes purely from someone who has no knowledge of how rail networks operate!). SEN needs a complete overhaul of their PR and customer relations department. They seem incapable of answering people's questions on negative issues such as Thomson Holidays cut backs and Balkan Holidays withdrawal, and provide very few updates. Twitter is slightly better, but I suspect that is because more people use their Twitter page than Facebook page. Their Routesonline account which is supposed to be for serious business links/negotiations is shambolic. At the moment it is as good as defunct as the only available contact is Alistair Welch and he left months back and has a new job at Manston! In recent weeks my confidence in Stobart to deliver (no pun intended) new routes is waining slightly.
On the other, what I think we'll see is the same 4 aircraft base + the A320 on the side, and perhaps 1 maybe 2 if we're lucky replacement routes from EasyJet most likely tba at the terminal extension opening one would assume. As SEN is still a relatively new base EZY will want to try new destinations to find the best mix. Domestic routes are not performing that brilliantly so my guess would be other European cities or sunshine routes. Milan-Malpensa, Hamburg for example.
As for other airlines... blank
