The A320 seems to be fully integrated into the SEN schedules this week in place of an A319, with 2 or 3 rotations per day, up to and including Apr 3, which is the furthest ahead I can see. This appears to address the issue that I commented on earlier of apparently excessive A320 positioning relative to the amount of revenue flying.

The easyJet winter schedules valid to February 28 show that SEN-JER terminates on November 1, as does SEN-PMI, though I imagine the latter will return for the following summer. The principal positive change is that AMS is back to three flights a day on several days of the week.

The final part of the winter schedule was released yesterday and March 2015 shows 53 rotations per week compared with 68 per week in March 2014. More tellingly there are only 9 destinations in 2015 compared with 12 in 2014. I'm surprised that PMI is not operating at all this coming winter but no doubt it will return for the summer, although I'm not sure that the same can be certain for the JER route.
All in all it looks like the end of any expansion plans at SEN for the near future and perhaps they have decided that SEN has reached its optimum level in terms of destinations and frequencies. I'm sure that's not what SEN management wants to see in view of the much greater terminal capacity now available.

Slightly disappointing news, but we knew that EZY would always look to consolidate the routes that work best from SEN over the coming months. When more aircraft become available in the future they will still look at SEN as an option, particularly with regards to the wide range of leisure destinations (which appear the most popular) which could potentially be added.

For the future I think it will be the deliveries of the A320neo which offer SEN the best hope of additional routes of the type suggested. I'm reliably informed that these aircraft will offer a considerable increase in useful payload from SEN's runways, hopefully opening up a number of additional destination possibilities, although I believe deliveries of these do not start until 2017. It will certainly be interesting see what, if any, new routes appear in the interim.

We had better hope that Stobart Air has some success with its routes ......

I had a email earlier this morning from Easyjet advertising various destinations including routes from SEN to Turkey (Bodrum) and Greece (Kalamata), i dont know if this was a mistake by them as when i tried to do a dummy booking these routes did not show up on the drop down destination list from SEN, or have they jumped the gun on these possible new routes and they will be announced when Easyjet bring out their Summer 2015 schedules soon.I seem to remember a few months ago someone saying when they were on a Easyjet SEN flight, that the Cabin crew were talking to pax about new routes to Greece and Turkey coming soon, well we will have to wait and see i suppose. Would these routes cause payload problems on a A319 operating from SEN in the Summer months i wonder?.

I cannot really see how the A319 could operate effectively to either BJV or KLX from SEN as they are around 550 miles and 350 miles further respectively than is FAO. FAO and AGP really do seem the furthest destinations that are realistic from SEN in the summer as has been recently demonstrated. The A320-214s could quite possibly do so but I cannot see them allocating such an aircraft to SEN next year nor why they should particularly want to do it on a w-pattern. I would have thought it's probably a mistake although, as with the peculiar goings on with the DUB-SEN route recently, I suppose such a thing cannot be ruled out entirely.

Im inclined to agree Expressflight that it is a mistake as when i clicked on to book Bodrum from SEN it showed Stansted and Kalamata showed Gatwick, i think we will have to wait until September when EZY are due to release their Summer 2015 schedules but i feel its unlikely but as you say it cant be ruled out entirely. Oh for a slightly longer runway!

I think it is probably just an attempt by easyJet to promote holiday routes from alternative London airports close to SEN and that SEN passengers maybe interested in.
As expressflight says anything can happen, but I find it hard to see any new EZY routes from SEN anytime soon as they appear to be consolidating their current set of routes and favouring expansion at other bases (LGW & LTN) instead.

I received a promotional e-mail from Easyjet the other day indicating that flights were available from SEN to Bordeaux!! Unfortunately on checking further this proved not to be the case. A bit of a poor show from Easyjet sending messages to past SEN customers bragging about routes that do not exist.

Summer 2015 flights now available on the easyJet website. No new routes I'm afraid, and Krakow definitely withdrawn. Not too surprising, but still disappointing.
