I have noticed that the Alicante route has suffered a big drop in pax all through the Summer months, i can only presume that there was less flights this Summer than for last Summer, can someone confirm this please. I know that the Barcelona flights were cut this year compared to last, so i can understand their very big drop in pax numbers. Whats the percentage diffrence for Palma just out of intrest thanks.

Yes, there was a 30% reduction in the number of ALC flights this year which corresponds to the actual reduction in passenger numbers in August. It's simply a case that one less SEN-based aircraft inevitably leads to frequency reductions overall. The aircraft certainly wasn't withdrawn due to lack of demand but, I suspect, to add to the LGW fleet to make full use of the slots bought from Flybe.

Thanks for that expressflight, i thought that must have been the case regarding the ALC flights. Lets hope the new Paris route will do well, we need these city routes as well as the sunshine routes to be successful.

Whats the percentage diffrence for Palma just out of intrest thanks. 6934 scheduled passengers in Aug 2014 compared to 6470 in Aug 2015 is a 7.17% reduction if my maths in correct - the CAA stats just have the overall percentage change on the route including the Volotea charter for Thomson, which is a 6% reduction

Since VCE will be 4x weekly up to the S16 timetable, I suspect 2x weekly flights from the VCE based aircraft may be introduced, perhaps meaning an increase in flights on the SEN based aircraft to certain destinations? Guess we'll find out soon.

The PMI flights have increased from 5 a week to 7 a week for S16 so that covers the SEN based aircraft and its reduction on the VCE flights.

Summer 2016 will have the same number of weekly rotations as this year so there is no spare capacity to fill on the three based aircraft. I agree that it looks as if, hopefully, VCE will be served at least twice weekly in addition by a VCE-based aircraft.

I wonder if EZY will consider basing a fourth aircraft at SEN for 2017 when their first A320NEOs arrive? Mr Jones is going to have his work cut out to achieve that. Maybe European, and especially Eastern European, carriers would be more useful to court....?

Agreed, but realistically which European airlines are possible candidates? I'm really struggling now to see where additional airlines, at any volume of traffic, are going to come from.

A little disappointing for SEN that new LUT-JER announced for next summer 5 times per week. SEN left with 3 days per week, with double rotation on Saturday still. I think it was but summer 2014 it was daily from SEN?
