Just been looking at the JOIN Regional Airlines thread which started on this Forum way back in May 2011, now we are nearly into Febuary 2013 and still there is no news if or when this long awaited start up carrier will take to the skies. We were told last year, their would be a press release at the end of October, then it was end of November, then delayed again till maybe the new year??. Has anyone on here got any more news on JOIN or is it now a dead duck?.

Yes, I have got some recent information but cannot give any details unfortunately. I think we shall hear this coming week one way or the other.

Lets hope so - this would be the third time they have stated a particular week for an announcement, although as expressflight has said before, the route network and planning stages went through a few changes which is understandable.

......... and very likely to stay that way unfortunately.
To achieve a successful airline start-up in Europe in the current economic climate is just so very difficult.

What as shame - perhaps they'll just have to wait for the economy to pick up first. Thanks for the update!

Join! still appear to be active, but are still looking for that final investment to get operations started. In recent news, they have stated that they MAY carry out a feasibility study into operating from Dundee to London (presumably Southend) to preserve Dundee's only scheduled service. Nice to see that Join! are still going, and that they are aiming for a September 2014 start - we'll see if that happens. This website (under construction) of Join regional airlines has been around since about May 2011, so we shouldnt take to much notice of that 8674planes. I hope i am proved wrong but it aint going to happen.

You are probably right, and Dundee to Southend will not be happening now Loganair is flying to Stansted 2x daily from 30 March. Another missed airline opportunity (Loganair that is!).

JOIN! certainly are not in a position to take advantage of any opportunities at present as I believe they are still trying to finalise investment. The SEN route landscape might be rather different when and if they are able to successfully launch operations so don't expect their route plans to reflect the present website. I hope they do succeed because those behind the project have worked very hard over a number of years now,
