HUY will almost certainly have more charters than MME. FR and bmi will probably keep MME's passenger figures above ours

I think they will, but only just. I think they could drop down to below 500,000 this year. I think BLK will drop to below HUY. It will be like what it was in the 90's again, MME and HUY similar in numbers and BLK and NWI dropping down.

Cant see BLK dropping below us coinsidering Jet 2's summer operations with two based aircraft

When did they recieve their second aircraft? Im pretty sure that this last year just under 500,000 were handled there. Dont forget FR will have had around 100,000 of those at least. LS seem to be able to spread out their timetable there as there are not so many movements per day.

Theres been two aircraft there in summer for a while now. I've just looked athe CAA stats and BLK only had 15000 more passengers than us last year, which surprised me. So maybe we will overtake them, but then we will also see some severe charter cuts this summer

I dont understand how their operations can justify two a/c with no city destinations on offer there. Just shows what HUY could have been like now, though with whats happened at DTV would it be a good idea? Suppose theres not alot left to lose with the traditional med routes now and i would hope its something MAG are looking seriously at for next year to fill in the gaps with Ibiza, Faro, Alicante, Malaga, Palma, Lanzarote and Menorca plus others all gone or severly cut....

Now THAT'S bad, losing a link that's been in place since - what? - late 60s? What next for DTV? Are the Management trying to run it down?

MME is getting more and more like HUY - just swap most of our charters for FR at MME. A big blow for MME, especially in the winter

I would say worse. I bet HUY will still offer more destinations and therefore choice to its customers than MME will next summer as things stand.
More evidence that airports of this stature cannot rely upon one 'charter summer airline'.

I dont think such comments are wise. Firstly because there are people who earn a living at MME. And secondly it would hardly help the Teeside/Darlington economy. Having to travel to NCL or LBA is hardly going to attract investment to the area
Plus of course now is hardly the time to be judging an airport. Do it when the economy picks up as traffic may well pick up at MME then too

Yet more bad news/rumours. A post on Pprune says the DUB is to be pulled in the coming months due to 'duty tax at Dublin'...

Been confirmed MME-DUB is being canned. Others routes being canned or reduced from DUB.
RYR seem to be alienating a lot of airports & organisations. One of these days they will find NO-ONE willing to take them on. Where will they park their 738s then?
Nevertheless, more bad news for DTV. Is it a realistic proposition that the airport could disappear under an industrial or housing estate?
What are the Management doing??
