Just been watching the arrival into HUY of new(to HUY!) snow equipment. Most of the older stuff was struggling a bit but still managed to do a job.Not seen any of the old stuff going in the other direction though. This offers up the questions are we expecting a winter programme and preparing in advance or are we becoming merely a storage site for other airports? There also seems to have been new aircraft steps and other airside bits and bobs arriving? With a lack of aircraft on the ground for 2012/13 it does seem a little strange to bring in all this equipment.

Plenty of space to store surplus eqiuipment I would have thought. I wouldn't read into it.

Today's Sunday Telegraph has a two page article on the delays at Heathrow following Friday's snow and the further snow forecast for today. They go on to say that ' Travellers at regional airports including Leeds Bradford, Humberside and Newcastle were also frustrated by delays '. Friday's snow did not seem to cause any problems at HUY, so it must be a case of mistaken identity. The delays at HUY were on Tuesday 15th, following Monday's snow. Has the new snow equipment remained at HUY following the change of ownership?

On second thought, perhaps The Sunday Telegraph are predictive , as tonight's KL 1497 and KL1499 have been cancelled. This may, of course be due to snow in Amsterdam.
