It seems likely - but not confirmed - that one journey on the Humber Flyer will divert via Barnetby from next month. More on Air Humberside's 'sister' site Humber Transport - humbertransport.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/humber-flyer-via-barnetby.htmlThe NLC report that contained the Barnetby news also revealed that the airport are currently paying £10,000 annually towards covering Stagecoach's losses on the Humber Flyer. NELC also pay £10,000, Hull £5,000, NLC £1,700 (was £2,000) and Lincolnshire County Council £850

Normally the route would be dropped with losses like that. But it might be worth stagecoach keeping the route seen that the airport is starting to pick up more services which will hopefully mean more holiday makers using the service next summer to get to the airport.

The Humber Flyer is very 'politically sensitive'. There was a lot of fuss created just about withdrawing one early morning bus, and in the past when the entire service has been under threat there was even more 'uproar' - hence the amount of funding it receives
TBH I doubt the airport is a major source of demand for the service considering it's a Mon-Sat daytime only route. The airport's inclusion helps keeps the route politically important, and it uses the road outside the airport anyway
