Congratulations are indeed due to Cambridge and I hope that this ambitious plan succeeds.
I trust that their market research has been sufficiently thorough and that they can attract leisure travellers who are currently flying from STN, as they will surely need to if this operation is to prosper. A quick glance at fares suggests that business travel will comprise the majority of their customers and at the end of the day how well it is all marketed may decide whether or not it works.

I echo Expressflights post, and this seems like an exciting prospect for Cambridge. I've spent a bit of time down there recently and it is certainly a vibrant city with the obvious academic and scientific research that happens there I'm sure there will be support for these new services.

Surprised nothing on here since the start of services yesterday, I suppose no news is good news...

To answer my own question:
CAA provisional stats are out for Sept 2013 Amsterdam AMS - 1155 pax Geneva GVA - 264 pax Milan MXP - 333 pax Paris CDG - 199 pax
Some potential, especially on the Amsterdam (which of course Suckling did for many years).

CAA provisional statistics for October 2013.
Amsterdam 1,146 Geneva 162 Milan 198 Paris 459
The average loads still seem to be in the 6 to 12 passengers per flight area.

Surely disappointing not see an increase, Paris excepted

Darwin - or Etihad Regional as they are now branding themselves as - are to start a Dusseldorf service

Amsterdam is to be cut to once daily (evening flight remains) and Milan dropped. I presume this is to enable the new DUS route to be operated by a CBG based aircraft airlineroute.net/2013/12/11/f7-s14update2/While Etihad will no doubt be behind the new DUS route, and dictating the timing for onward connections to Abu Dhabi, the same day onward connection opportunities at AMS will be significantly less

Cambridge Airport is missing completely from the November provisional statistics. This is a pity as it is an interesting case-study in new route development.

But unfortunately the others are all down. I would say that they're only small drops, but when you consider a route attracting just over 200 ppm it makes the drop more serious. I can't see anything bookable past the end of March, which would suggest that Etihad Regional/Darwin are pulling the plug on CBG operations.
