Bookings for new summer direct flights and holiday packages to Jersey departing from Cambridge Airport are exceeding all expectations, according to tour operator CI Travel. As the second year of direct flights started last weekend, the independent Channel Islands specialist has confirmed that forward-bookings were up by 75 per cent year on year. Following a strong first season in 2012, the flights were reintroduced for 2013 from Cambridge Airport’s new terminal. For the 2013 season, travellers can choose from a selection of seven or 14-night packages.
Marshall’s Steve Jones, managing director of aviation services, which runs Cambridge Airport, said: “It comes as no surprise to us that the flights are proving so popular. Jersey has long been a favourite destination for Cambridge residents.
“We have improved our customer experience for 2013 with a brand new terminal and facilities offering business-class style lounges, and are looking forward to even more travellers enjoying our airport this summer.”
