From the BBC Look North facebook page at 19:30 today:
Update from a few minutes ago:
Sounds like it should be worth a watch! Well done to all involved for bringing the aircraft down safely, a very interesting evening for HUY indeed!

Full credit to the passenger and those who were giving instructions on landing. Could have easily been a lot worse. Hopefully the ill pilot makes a speedy recovery

Sadly the pilot has since died. So this is a story with very contrasting outcomes for the two people on board.
I heard an aircraft come very low over my house at that time but just thought it was someone who had slightly misjudged their approach. Sitting in the bath, blissfully unaware of the drama happening overhead!
I wish I had been listening in on ATC at the time though. It sounds like the incident was professionally handled. Well done all concerned.

Condolences to the family and friends of the pilot. Not the totally happy story it first appeared to be

I was in Canada when the incident occurred and it made headline news there. have to agree with Humberside though it isn't an entirely happy story.
