Following a very busy May, the 146 has flown 19 sectors for BA out of LCY in the first three days of June. Its dispatch reliability seems to have been excellent since it entered service with Jota.

Charter from Southend to Rome today, ENZ548/549. Good to see JOTA using the home airport for this.

Fantastic achievement for JOTA as it certainly was a step up for them. Pleased to see a SEN based company going from strength to strength and long may that continue.

Cello appear to have beaten Jota to a four week lease to BACF in September/October. Prior to this Jota might have appeared to be in pole position for the BACF work so perhaps Cello may have had to sharpen their competitive approach. Even so Jota must be pleased with the utilisation of the 146 in its first year. It would seem to form a good base for the talked of fleet expansion.
Although offering the aircraft in a convertible 50/95 seat configuration has advantages, the drawback is that conversion requires 12 hours and short notice ACMI work could be missed when the 146 is in the "wrong" configuration. A good case one might think for a dedicated airline standard aircraft when the fleet is expanded.
I note that for some weeks the Jota KingAir freighter has been performing a regular freight run from Northern France to SEN every weekday evening. FR24 does not identify theFrench airport but it looks like Albert Bray. The outbound movement is a positioning flight so it looks like high value French goods inbound to the UK.

I believe the Cello RJ85 may have gone tech in MAD this morning and Jota have taken over from them today and tomorrow at least while the RJ has positioned to Cranfield for maintenance presumably. I wouldn't be surprised if BA deliberately spread their requirements between both Jota and Cello rather than putting all their eggs in one basket.
Certainly a surprisingly (to me) strong performance by Jota in the first year of 146 operations and much credit probably goes to Mike Sessions who is very experienced as well as being a very nice bloke. Good luck to them going forward.

If that is correct it is great news for JOTA, and shows that their marketing person has been successfully active. It should provide the basis for a second BAe-146 to be added shortly. Sounds like it will be a popular posting for the crews!

Here's a nice little dream........ how about Jota flying IT charters from SEN to Malta, Nice, Perpignan etc....... a more successful re-birth of Princess Air's vision. OK, just a dream....

I hear that the Cello RJ85 is at Cranfield for end of lease checks. The Cello website no longer includes mention of it. Their fleet is shown only as the 146-200 in 46-seat configuration and a 737-400. If they do not replace G-LENM this could open up market opportunities for Jota.
That potential Salerno operation seems to me somewhat high risk. I wonder if it will go ahead. Best of luck if it does.

The Jota 146 G-SMLA continues to fly for BACF out of LCY, as it has been doing for the past month or so. It normally operates on the GLA, EDI, DUB, ZRH and FRA routes operating 4 to 6 sectors per day. It often positions into SEN on Friday evenings for a bit of maintenance and re-positions to LCY on Sunday afternoon or Monday morning.

The ex-Cello RJ85 G-LENM carried out an air test from Cranfield on 19th December. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for that aircraft.
