A NUMBER of major development schemes in North East Lincolnshire could be set to benefit from a near £50 million boost for the region.
Officials at the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership are hoping to secure the cash in a bid to the Government's new Local Growth Fund (LGF).
The LGF is offering £2 billion worth of funding for LEPs across the country to invest in their priority projects during 2015-16.
Although the Humber LEP's bid has yet to be finalised, a number of major schemes in the area have been included in a proposed £48.8 million programme scheduled to start in April next year. They include:
Cleethorpes regeneration programme (total project value £20 million, total LGF ask £4 million)
Lincolnshire Lakes Flood risk mitigation strategy (total project value £22.2 million, total LGF ask £2.2 million)
Environmental Logistics Learning Hub, Grimsby Institute (total £9.6 million, ask £1.2 million)
Humberside Airport Heli-Hub Training Facility (total £2 million, ask £1 million)
Grimsby town centre infrastructure and enabling works (total £2.5 million, ask £1.3 million)
Richard Kendall, manager of the Humber LEP, said: "We are currently developing our bid to the Government's Local Growth Fund, which is due by the end of March.
"The LGF is offering £2 billion worth of funding for LEPs across the country to invest in their priority projects during 2015-16.
"The decision on which projects will be included in the bid will be made by the LEP Board on March 28."
