The 12th November flight is being operated by Onur Air instead of Corendon. It looks as though it is being shared with Helsinki. All will be revealed when the November traffic figures are available!

OSKA advertising a golfing holiday flight to Antalya 23rd April as well as the existing departure on 21st April. I this a new flight or has the date been changed?? Seem unlikely it will be another flight same week. I guess it depends on how well their holidays have been selling.

This is a further capacity cut by Oska, with Humberside and Norwich each losing a flight. The remaining departures are from Bournemouth (9th April) , Norwich (16th April) and Humberside (23rd April).

Least we keep the flight, even if it is a capacity cut - hopefully despite 1 departure being lost it will encourage them to try the flights again in the future, even if as one off departures like newmarket etc

Does anyone know if the ski flights have been shelved? It is no longer mentioned on the airport's website.

The flights are also missing from the Bournemouth and East Midlands websites. They are still showing on the Norwich website, so there may have been some consolidation.

That's a shame. Let's hope the airport can manage to attract some new operators soon, otherwise I can't see how the airport can survive in the long term with so few flights.

Why Can't the Airport Survive? Helicopter activity has increased, Amsterdam passenger numbers increased, BAE systems arrival, Search and Rescue Helicopter operations. What you may mean is that with additional Charter flights it will help profitability. It is up to the local community to support the Charter flights by utilising, it isn't the Airports fault.

It survives on its incumbent business. Whilst it would be nice to have the option of occasional ski charters, the loss of them (before they began) is hardly going to change the day to day operational viability.
Would be good to see a change in the leisure offering, but it's certainly not the be all and end all in what is, after all, a fickle market for small airports like HUY..

I hope Humberside does prosper in the future, but it's just disappointing to hear that the flights aren't likely to be running. The airport has clearly lost a large part of the charter market to DSA and probably doesn't have a big enough local population for the budget airlines, so it is going to be a challenge to attract additional business. I'm sure that the airport is doing its best, but if the big tour operators are staying away then the airport needs the smaller companies to be reliable, otherwise the travelling public will continue to use Robin hood and Manchester.

As a business, it is likely that the owners are well aware of the limitations, and thus is it really a viable proposition to prostitute themselves to airlines with a low cost bass? Sustainability is key, and though I'm sure a Ryanair operation would be sufficiently supported (like at BOH), the business is probably happy to lose those leisure passengers if it means they can remain buoyant with what they've got.
It must not be forgotten about the other investments happening in the region, and the role in which HUY is seen to fit into this is also inportant. It is not unreasonable to expect to see more scheduled services in future.
It must also be remembered that the size of HUY has its benefits, and the airport is proven to be profitable at 0.5mppa (which is a reasonable long term target to achieve), and with the other investments on site in recent months, this will only be increased.. The likes of DSA can fight for the scraps.

Today's proposed Topskiswiss charter flights to Berne from East Midlands and Norwich do not appear on the arrivals and departures boards.
