Last evening returning Bond A139 called a 'pan' with over-heating main gearbox and requested immediate landing. Tower pressed the panic alarm and called for Local Authority fire services. Fortunately the helicopter landed safely and immediately shut down on taxiway B with the airport fire services in attendance. The LA back-up was cancelled but there was some delay to the landing Eastern jetstream and the (about to depart) KLM while the Bond passengers were disembarked and ferried to the terminal and the helicopter towed away. Could have been a nasty one!

Is 'RedHead' 12 covering the U/S Bond A139? It's serving the Ravensburn Alpha.

I thought G-CGPI 'Redhead 12' may have arrived to cover our based G-VINB 'Bond 10', but it doesn't appear so, he's operateing from the southern apron and not picking any passengers up from the terminal.
AW139 G-PERB 'Bond 8' arrived from Norwich yesterday for a trip offshore and then back to Norwich, so he's probably covered our 'Bond 10' ?.

Thanks Richie. BTW, have you worked out what the yellow Dutch helos are doing? Are they sub-contracting or doing their own thing?

The NHV Helis have mainly be going out to the Ravenspurn with their passengers, but also been to the Cleeton, don't know if sub-contracting.
G-CGPI 'Redhead 12' departed to Dundee today.
G-PERB 'Bond 8' arrived from Norwich 17:45 and to hanger 9.
