Anybody know if Thomson/First Choice holidays from Humberside are selling well enough to encourage them to add another route(s)? December editions of summer 2015 brochures not far off now and it was last years December editions that indicated they were on their way back to HUY.
When do winter 2015/16 sun holidays appear?? Airport twitter comment a few weeks ago encouraged a poster to "watch this space" for the return of Tenerife flights. ADMIN NOTE - Split from Summer 2015 Thread

For Winter 2015/16, a google search came up with a facebook reply from Thomson stating "around November time"

There is a major travel trade conference in London this week, a few delegates are in attendance from where I work. I expect HUY has a presence there.

Thomson's winter 2015/6 long haul holidays only are being loaded at this time. Short haul (including TFS) will be added on or around 8th December. Any new flights for summer 2015 should appear within the next week or so when, according to a post on PPRUNE, Norwich expect extra. It's also interesting to note that the on-line flight timetable on Thomson's site is showing that all flights planned with Germania are not currently available from Norwich, Aberdeen and Humberside. This could either mean their timetable section is out of date or changes are a foot! Holidays still appear to be bookable though.

Further info re Thomson TFS. If you go to the flights section from the main web page, click on "Where we Fly", click on Leeds you will see a map with the location of HUY shown. Click on the symbol and then click on "Flight Information" you will see a description of the airport and a narrative about two destinations - TFS and PMI.
Looking good!

All sounds very hopeful, but without wanting to sound too negative, I have a feeling the page being referred to has not been updated for a number of years (since Thomson last operated from HUY). It is also worth noting that around this time last year we excitedly discussing the appearance of IBZ and PMI in the Thomson brochures for Summer 14. We all on here know that a weekly TFS would work from HUY as a year round destination, and really hope it returns soon.
As Pug points out - The loss of Dalaman is a massive blow for the airport but even more of a blow is the total lack of any Thomas Cook presence for Summer 15. Thomas Cook (and Airtours/My Travel before that) were pretty much the biggest charter operator from Humberside for a number of years.

You're very right to sound a note of caution mrmoose. Looking at the page there are some indications that this is not a left-over from circa 2010. The page shows a date of 2013 as the date of last revision and the google map excludes DTV which would have been operating at that time. Also, the narrative about flights from HUY talks about Thomson's strategy of flying from more regional airports and that was only announced April this year. However,it doesn't prove that a flight will happen. Nothing is certain until it's up for sale! www.thomson.co.uk/flights/destinations/europe/united-kingdom/united-kingdom/humberside-airport/humberside-flights.htmlIf last nights poster on PPRUNE is right and DSA -TFS is being cut back there is a Air Europa flight for May to September 2015 that could be in line for transfer to HUY.

Thomson / First choice have loaded there winter 2015 / 16 programme into the system and at the moment there is nothing from Humberside not even in the drop down box , obviously things change all the time so it could still happen

I see Thomson have just announced a second weekly TFS flight next winter from NWI... I also see that Peel have been taking Thomson directors for helicopter rides b Along the new route from Sheffield to DSA. I shouldn't hold your breath for much.

The two Jetxtra flights to Alicante this Christmas are no longer on sale. Summer 2016 only on offer. Another missed opportunity (remember Malaga) resulting from the Jetxtra/ Sporting Events Global falling-out??
It will be interesting to see their ALC and PMI loads for this month - they've been very active on Twitter and Facebook for the last month or so but I'm skeptical about the effectiveness of this approach if it's not supported by other methods e.g press adverts. Still I suppose they will have repeat customers from the last two years and the aircraft used are both under 100 seats so maybe they can get OK loads.

Is this situation compounded by the lack of selling-power in Spain? At Christmas, they need to sell seats in Spain or be faced with the cost of a positioning flight. This is not a problem in June and July as the aircraft revert to the Edinburgh/Alicante route during the Scottish school holidays. Would love to see British Airways/Iberia use their marketing power on this route. Even Flybe achieved 94% on the Malaga route!
