That is good news, but just one minor point - I'm pretty sure that I read something in the local papers that When You wish Upon a Star has stopped the trips to Lapland. Monarch has stopped operating charter flights, so the charity has put on a train trip, instead.

Sorry to hear that. The only consolation is that it will not affect the hoped-for increase, as I had it in both years. It will make for a bit of a hole in the December figures this year.

Newmarket are advertising Christmas on the Italian Riviera departing from 11 UK airports (including HUY) to Nice on 22nd December 2016 for 6 days (5 nights) from £779 per person. The only hotel on offer is the Hotel Corso at Alassio (which only has 45 rooms), so it appears that they are using scheduled flights.

Flights are currently available from BA at £280 return. That would imply £130 per night for a large room.

A great idea, but very expensive for 2 days, particularly as its only 2 weeks away, and would need paying in full on booking - Im paying less than that for 2 weeks in Tenerife next year for 3 of us. Not seen the ad, but assume it includes park tickets as well? Its a great idea though - if they could get the cost down a three figures - it might do well - wonder if they have block booked a set number of seats?
