BBC Radio Humberside report that KLM are closing their crew base, subject to consultation, in 2017. Flights not affected. From what I heard it was implied that all KLM's UK bases were due to close

Look North reported that 40 staff at Humberside Airport are affected by the plan, which involves centralisation at Amsterdam in order to cut costs. The number of air services provided from HUY would not be affected. This seems to be a result of the Air France - KLM 'Perform 2020' plan which is designed to improve competitiveness and efficiency. It involves a review of the number of crew bases in the U.K. (according to the Northern Echo). Air France seems to have been more severely affected by the plan, with an expected decline in capacity of about 10% between 2015 and 2017. Five Air France routes are to close (mainly to Asia and the Middle East). Air France bases at Nice, Toulouse, and Marseille are to close, affecting 200 employees.
