Caistor Road is the road that runs parallel to the airport runway, and provides access to the search and rescue base. I think these works are part of the wider works to improve access to the airport, including the roundabout opened in the Summer, and a new roundabout at Barnetby Top
Council set to carry out £350,000 improvement works to Caistor Road
30 December 2015
North Lincolnshire Council is set to carry out works to improve C137 Caistor Road starting on Monday 4 January (weather permitting) for four weeks.
The work will be carried out from where Caistor Road joins the A18 south for a distance of approximately 700 metres. It will include road widening and resurfacing.
This section of road will be temporarily closed whilst the work is carried out and a diversion in place. The diversion route will be from the A18 to Great Limber and then Grasby Road to Caistor Road – and vice versa. Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
Cllr Neil Poole, cabinet member for Neighbourhoods, said:
“It is essential that this work is carried out to improve this part of Caistor Road. We are trying to keep disruption to a minimum and will endeavour to get the work finished as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused, but it is necessary we make these improvements - so please bear with us.”
