There has been some news regarding recuitment and training at the new Siemens blade factory. A further 100 staff are being recruited, taking the numbers above 500 towards an eventual total of about 1,000. The new applicants will be the first of the factory's employees who will not need to go to Aalborg for training as it will all be taking place in Hull from September. It is a pity that the CAA have not been able to supply any passenger figures for the past two months. The fact that three aircraft have recently been required suggests that up to 70 or 80 employees have been commuting to Aalborg. Presumably these numbers will fall and it will be interesting to see what the underlying demand is for the Aalborg route, as there may be a similar demand for Bremen. Hopefully demand for Billund is steady and growing.

The British Airways flight status pages show the scheduled aircraft on the route up to 14th October. From today onwards, all scheduled flights are showing, but the capacity has been downgraded to a J31. This is presumably as a result of the above-mentioned change in training location.

Does anyone know if Sun Air are still operating this service? It doesn't seem to be showing on the British Airways website at the moment.

Tomorrow's flights have now been cancelled, as have all the other flights before Christmas. No flights had yet been scheduled after Christmas. Demand from Siemens will determine the outcome.
