KLM's online timetable shows they plan to replace the Embraer 190 rotation with an Embraer 175 this winter - planned to be used on the teatime KL1497/1498. The other two flights show as Fokker 70's

On another forum there is an update on the current state of play on KLM's Fokker 70 replacement programme. There are no longer any Fokker pilots based at HUY. All pilots at HUY are Embraer-trained and they work from LBA as well as HUY. The cabin crew are dual-trained on the Embraer 190/175 and Fokker 70. There are currently 13 Fokker 70 aircraft in the fleet. When the Fokker 70 night-stops at HUY they need to bring in additional flight crew for the early morning flight.

I notice KLM are doing a lot of TV advertising presently for flights from HUY, LBA and MAN. Hopefully will result in greater usage seeing as we are seeing slight drops each month.

Now that we have (a few!) more traffic figures, I think that you were right when you commented on the May traffic figures by saying that Flybe could have taken traffic from KLM at HUY. In September, both AMS and JER were down at HUY. This would suggest that some leisure traffic has been enticed away by lower fares. Project Blackbird will not be around for ever (but may be partially replaced by turbo-props). The next change in the region will be a capacity increase by KLM when they go from 76 seats to three rotations of the 88 seat E175. They will therefore probably have a few more cheaper seats to sell.

I think there may be a bit of leakage due to cheaper fares from DSA, but the service is inherently a feeder, so hopefully they are still getting the higher yield from connecting passengers.
Do we know yet when the e jets will be replacing the F70's?

Early days, but the last Fokker 70 flight appears to be the KL1486 on Sunday 29th October. Sadly will be rather dark for any final photographs (0620 departure). Then all EMB-175

Can you confirm the date for the last flight. Seems to be a glitch in the dates quoted above. Certainly saw one this week on Tuesday morning (Non 15th).

The F70s are due to go by the end of next October. According to the net there are already 4 E175s in service, with 13 on order to replace the Fokkers. Any sign of the E175 on HUY's afternoon service yet?

FR24 is showing that when the summer timetable comes into effect the weekday KL1489/1490 will be operated by an EMJ and the teatime flight is going back to a F70.

FR has next Saturday's (28th) night stop down as an Embraer, so it looks like the last Fokker will be KL1490 on Saturday morning.
