I must admit to being pleasantly surprised at this announcement. I had somehow assumed the CAX routes would be flown by an ACMI operator under Flybe branding. Stobarts must be pleased to have a long established and credible operator like Loganair on board, selling the routes under its own brand.
The bigger picture could be interesting, depending on whether this is a one-off arrangement or a precursor of other collaborative ventures to come.

Any reason why all the Loganair Carlisle flights are showing as sold out including BHD and DUB? Surely not dropped before starting?

Its only the cheaper fares that are shown as Sold Out. The Flex + fares are all still available, at prices around the £145 mark, and this flat pricing applies on all routes for the rest of the summer. Surely this is not right. I suspect an error. Wait for the dust to settle I think.
The inaugural CAX-SEN on June 4 is shown as completely sold out. which surely is to be expected given the circumstances.

I wonder if, after a major development, it is perhaps the length of time that the 'dust will take to settle' that may well be the issue here?

Looking highly likely that Loganair are to announce 3 new Scottish routes from SEN imminently. Strongly rumoured destinations are Inverness, Aberdeen and Glasgow.

A much more modest launch of Loganiar's CAX routes than previously put on sale last year but perhaps more commercially sensible with an emphasis on leisure and VFR passengers than business travellers. Having said that there is a Monday early morning CAX-SEN and a Friday late afternoon SEN-CAX flight catering from Cumbrian residents spending the working week in London and vice versa of course to some extent.
Monday: CAX 07:00 SEN 08:25 SEN 08:55 CAX 10:20
Thursday, Friday & Sunday CAX 14:20 SEN 15:45 SEN 16:15 CAX 17:40
Operating 4th July 2019 until 25th October 2019.
SF340 aircraft.

A series of potentially useful connections to the new SEN services are available on the Loganair website.
Barra, Benbecula,Campbelltown,, Donegal, Islay,Kirkwall and Sumburgh all connect via GLA.
Kirkwall and Sumburgh also connect via ABZ.
Starting dates are May 12 for ABZ, May 28 for GLA/SYY

Taking an occasional glance at the Loganair website I have noticed what appears to be a pattern whereby fares between SEN/ABZ and SEN/GLA are consistently higher for the northbound flights than for the southbound. This would seem to imply that demand and presumably pax carried are higher for the northbound services. Why should this be ? For a quick comparison I looked at EZY on GLA to LGW/STN/LTN plus ABZ-LTN and the same picture appears.

Passenger numbers for June are ABZ 3,609 and GLA 3,691, equating to load factors of 56% and 57% respectively.

The new SEN-LDY City of Derry (Londonderry)is now officially announced. Double daily except Saturday when there is only one rotation, starting October 27.
I was interested to see that the asking fares for SEN-LDY-SEN for October/November onwards are noticeably higher than those offered for STN-LDY. What is the reason, I wonder? Perhaps just a sighting shot and they are trying it on and will revert to a more normal pattern in due course ? STN-LDY seems to have attracted good loads, rather better than the LM SEN routes. One has to hope this will continue after the change of airport.
The loss of the middle rotations on SEN-ABZ and GLA is of course a disappointment. The aim presumably is to up the load factor and yields on the remaining evening flights, which is understandable but a disappointment that they chose to cut so early in the operation. Overall load factors of 56/57% may not be enough for Loganair, and I think the middle rotation usually offered the lowest fares overall but surely could still be viewed as a a promising start.
Meanwhile speculation continues that the Dundee PSO route may also be moved to SEN, but right now it seems to be just speculation.

I see that the asking fares for the new SEN-LDY service have reduced significantly since I made the above post. The fares now look much more realistic for flights which are still two months or more in the future. Perhaps it was a glich.
