Wow! That's a major expansion. I guess that a lot of work will have to be done during the next nine months in order to accommodate this. I do hope that in 10 years time we are looking back and thinking it was a good thing for the airport. (Perhaps Mr Air Humberside would be good enough to move these RYR posts into a new thread on the same? Many Thanks AH )

Interesting to see the competition between EZY/RYR on these routes at SEN & STN, not taking into account other airlines.
RyanAir Routes SEN Notes Alicante -Tue/Wed/Fri/Sat/Sun (Easyjet daily; RYR also from STN) Bergamo -Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun (Flybe 5 weekly to MXP, no Tue or Sat; RYR also from STN) Bilbao -Tue/Wed/Thurs/Sun (only UK RYR service; EZY from STN) Brest - Mon & Fri (only UK RYR service) Cluj/Napoca - Tue/Thurs/Sun. (only UK RYR service) Dublin -2x daily (Flybe up to 3x daily; RYR also from STN) Faro - Mon/Wed/Thurs/Fri/Sat. (Easyjet daily, 2 on Tue; and 2 on Thurs & Sat in summer hols; RYR also from STN) Kosice - Tue/Thurs/Sat. (only UK RYR service) Malaga - Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat/Sun (Easyjet 1x daily + EZY/RYR also from STN) Palma - Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun (Easyjet 1x daily + EZY/RYR also from STN) Venice -Mon/Wed/Thurs/Sun (RYR also from STN) Corfu -Tue & Sat (RYR also from STN) Reus -Mon & Fri (RYR also from STN)

Flights are on sale already, showing a start date of April 2 (Tuesday) In plenty of time for Easter, which is late in 2019 - April 18-21 . All three aircraft appear to be on line straightaway.

Yes indeed; although avoiding the usual summer hour change start in late March, perhaps deliberately due to Brexit start date uncertainty?

It looks as though with this expansion the airport managements long held view that the airport will start to come into its own as other LON airports become full is correct. Stansted in the peaks is struggling for stands and slots so this could be a great way for Ryanair to maintain and grow market share if they are targeting inbound as well as outbound demand with this expansion. Will be interesting to watch future growth as Stansted remains busy.

STN and LTN are struggling with lack of capacity therefore the growth of SEN is welcome. But having won the Which best London Airport award for a number of years it needs some good planning as it rapidly grows. Otherwise it's reputation for quality and service could be lost.

Ryanair have announced a 'new route' from SEN to Treviso, aka Venice Treviso, for the winter period. 4 flights per week. This surely is just a change of airport at Venice. Summer 2019 FR services from SEN use Venice Marco Polo. Traditionally TSF has been favoured by LCCs presumably on cost comparisons. Its much further from Venice city than VCE.
The Ryanair press release states they will operate to 11 destinations from SEN next winter, which compares with 14 in the summer.

The three RYR 738s are positioning into SEN today at around 11:30L, 11:45L and 1230L and will apparently comprise EI-GJG, EI-GDZ plus another. Their scheduled flights commence early tomorrow morning with ALC at 06:45, KSC at 06:50 and DUB at 06:55.

The winter schedules reflect the reduction in the SEN base from three to two aircraft, which one is led to believe is a temporary winter reduction.
The following destinations are discontinued at the start of November: Corfu, Reus, Palma, Copenhagen, Kosice, Cluj. Dublin is reduced to one per day by the loss of the morning rotation, but this is scheduled to return at the end of March when PMI also returns . Venice is moved from Marco Polo to Treviso as already announced.
The losses are partially offset by the new Bucharest and Vilnius services. There may be frequency reductions on some of the other routes but I have not looked at this. As it is only two months to the start of the winter schedules, may we presume these changes are now final ?

I notice that the PMI has been daily this summer, even though the original announcement was 4 times a week. must have more than wiped its face, I guess. And also noticed that the KSC flight is now in from KSC and then out to KSC, rather than t'other way around.

It appears that the Ryanair routes to Cluj and Kosice are both being transferring to Stansted next year.
