Seventy pax on KL1499 I/B last night, and 69 the night before. Are figures picking up?

Septembers CAA figures where 13% down year on year. Surely this rate of decline will slow soon?
Maybe now the service is down to 3xDaily for the winter, loads on the remaining flights have improved. Certainly what I would hope would happen
Unless the return of the 4th Daily service is a default schedule and it will be removed later (hope not but not impossible), then KLM must see something in either the forward bookings or the yields. Certainly there are easier ways to slightly increase capacity than increasing frequency (say upgrading 1 flight to a F100 or Embraer)

What will happen now? KLM are to announce their new service DSA-AMS...
Im fearing the worst now, i wonder if they actualy have the capacity to run both or if they intend to drop HUY in favor of DSA?

If KLM feel they can operate DSA-AMS without it impacting their HUY service. Fine. Well done to DSA. And I hope that is the case
BUT this winter KLM feel they can only operate 3xDaily HUY flight. Passenger figures are falling. And now they expect to be able to add a 4th daily HUY flight for most of next summer and add flights from an airport less than an hour away? KLM either need a reality check or we have lost AMS

I think weve lost it to be honest... Unfortunately if that is the case then there will realy be no reason for the airport other than another CVT/SEN :-(
Edit; saying that NCL and MME seem to operate ok together, they are around the same distance apart.
Also dont forget that HUY had 6xdaily services when SZD had its 3xdaily chopped.
I sincerely hope that HUY management and KLM will make a press statement regarding hUY tomorrow.

Launching DSA-AMS but keeping HUY capacity flat I could maybe just about understand. BUT launching DSA-AMS and adding more capacity from HUY. It just seems far too much, far too quickly

LBA spotter suggests that HUY is safe and will remain 4xdaily... I would hope that they reaffirm their comittment by adding an E-190 if that is true and keep to 3xdaily.
I have a feeling that if they are holding onto HUY then the DSA service could be a tester to see if it can work, much like the FR- DUB route from HUY against the DSA service.

Just noticed that the KLM employee website, where DSA appears on the drop down, also shows EMA, NQY and INV.... Could people be jumping the gun slightly and in reality Easyjet are to introduce some w legs from LPL, as the adamant poster on Pprune suggests?

Reading through ALL the posts it would seem that people, mostly PUG, are jumping the gun. If you want to believe something, the internet will always lead you to something that would corroborate your belief. Sometimes you just have to wait for the facts. DSA are desperate for new trade in an industry that is struggling to expand in the UK under the current financial conditions. Indeed I understand that they are planning to close half the DSA terminal to reduce operating costs. For KLM to set up an operation at DSA they would have to believe that it would work because once they do that they have damaged a business relationship with HUY that has lasted for almost 25 years. I believe HUY have respected their relationship by not bringing new airlines to directly compete with KLM on new routes and I believe that KLM would only do this to HUY if that relationship broke down. Easyjet does seem a possible candidate, but again this is rumour. I personally would not rule out Jet2 as the airline. We shall have to find out. BTW - HUY will definitely go to 4 daily AMS service in the Summer. They will also have a F70 operating the route instead of the F50 which are being taken out as the new E190's start operating other routes in the UK. The lunchtime flight codes will also change from KL1493/4 to KL 1495/6.

watcher72, i appologise and am slightly embarrassed myself for jumping the gun...
I wont rule it out but i have been told (by someone i consider to be completely reliable) that LS management openly ruled out DSA to some LBA based staff (including said source) not so long ago.
Easyjet does hold some credibility and as you say 'watcher' KLM should not damage their relationship with MAG/HUY...
P.s. Im still under the impression that HUY is in the list of possible future LS bases, though watcher seems more clued up on that than i am.
