In answer to my own question about the solar farm, the planning application was approved at the May planning meeting and a Decision Notice issued on May 29.

The first 17 minutes of this you-tube are Rochford Council deliberating on the re-submitted solar-farm in May. A good one for if you have difficulty sleeping..., however one councillor does make the point that the land was originally planned under the JAAP to be for new hangarage in that area, which would seem now not to be the case with the solar-farm in place. I have read the the preceding post and realy dont like the change from hangarage to solar-farm, i feel this is not to the advantage and developement of the airport and wonder how long the project will take to recoupe the cost,of the said venture. The hangarage if sold correctly to the right clients would add to the airport expansion and may attract the very needed new airlines. Whilst the Stobart group have come in and done a great job, I feel there work is not yet finished they need to carry on and enlarge there own route network both in the U.K. and Europe also bring back Dublin so badly managed by Flybe yet successful with Aer Lingus regional.

AGA"Sat 12 Sep 2015 In connection with the Chappel Beer Festival held at Chappel & Wakes Colne station on Saturday 12 September, a revised train service will apply on the Sudbury branch after 12:00 midday. As a result of overhead line renewal and track maintenancework, both lines will be closed between Billericay and Southend Victoria all day. Rail replacement bus services will operate between Billericay and Southend Victoria / Southminster in both directions. A rail replacement bus service will also be in operation between Southend Airport and Stratford in both directions for use by Southend Airport flight passengers only." (My bold) This seems like a significant step forward by AGA in recognising the needs of the airport AGA passengers. Much better than an all calling bus-service if going to/from London. Lets hope some progress on the late/early train timings can develop also.

The answer to my question about those north apron stands would seem to be that they have become the parking area for the Jota fleet so they are unlikely to be available for other aircraft.
Is there any news of the solar farm ? Will it go ahead ?

Jota use only the far north-west end of the north apron so I don't think that explains the other stands being out of service. Yesterday the diverted Global Express and Falcon 2000 were both towed from the Stobart FBO stands to those north apron stands for parking.

There are rumours on PPRuNe that Stobart are to operate two A319s from SEN next Summer, of course it is only a rumour and i cant see it happening unless they have arranged another franchise deal with another airline, plus if it is true they are leaving it late to announce new routes as we are nearly in December. Anyone heard anything more about these rumours?

Well that would be a huge surprise. Are there A319 type routes that could be served from SEN? Yes, absolutely, plenty! Could Stobart make it work? Who knows. It would be a huge step-up from the puddle jumping ATRs.

I've heard no rumours regarding A319s for Stobart and it should be kept in mind that the PPRuNe post was from a first-time poster, so open to doubt I would suggest.
The only possibility I can think of would be for Stobart to obtain A319s for the ACMI market for next summer but that would not result in additional SEN traffic. Stobart don't even have a reservations system so operating such aircraft in their own right on scheduled services would not be possible under the current setup.

So ITN considers Southend to be a seaside village? It was, but over 200 years ago. An example of late news.
