Good news, looking at HUY timetables the Jersey flight is for the whole summer season 5/5/12 to 27/10/12.

With the delivery of flybe's E175s, is there any chance they might be able to meet HUY's needs for sun flights with the right sized a/c?
Kind regards
Mike

Unfortunatley, I don't think sun destinations will be operated by the E175's as the yields for each flight would have to be very large to make longer routes sustainable. I think Flybe are more likely to use them on their shorter international routes to Paris and Brussels as well as their longer domestic routes eg Gatwick to Inverness. Don't forget that some will probably go to their new Finish arm as well. Although I'm a little pessimistic that Humberside will get any Flybe flights other than Jersey their could be a possibility for Belfast with the recent halt of flights to DSA. As for sun destinations I wouldn't rule out Ryanair adding more destinations from the airport.

Based on BE's announcement, only 6 EMB-175's will be used for growth between now and 2016. So competition for these aircraft between airports will be fierce

Excellent news, strong whispers. from Humberside Airport Travel, MALAGA is coming back for summer 2012. with Flybe, to be announced in next few weeks. I was at the airport today to pick up neighbours from a KLM flight {full} and asked about FR coming back. ALC definate ,but do not from when as with Malaga , no other flights known about. ;D

Lets hope this happens. With FR seemingly returning, and the possibility of LCA going back to a full season, next year could see some stability.

Sadly it will take a more than AGP+LCA to bring some stability next Summer
We have lost 1 almost full season Palma (the Thomson flight) on a B737-800 1 almost full season Antalya (Thomas Cook) on a B757-200 1 Dalaman late May-early August (h4u) on a A321
Thats roughly 2.5 flights per week less. FR wouldn't be an increase year on year. LCA would only be an increase for part of the Summer if it happenned - very roughly cancelling out the h4u loss. And Malaga on an EMB-190, possibly for only 3.5 months as in 2010, would nothing like make up for AYT/PMI
And there have been some rather sharp decreases in helicopter passengers recently that is having a significant impact on passenger numbers - over 1000 a month, probably far more than a weekly AGP would carry. Hopefully these increases will stop soon, but if they don't the impact is going to get worse
I don't want to be negative, but next Summer will be more declines unless something major is announced. It's great we have probably retained FR, but retain is all it is. It's good Olympic Holidays are seemingly committed to HUY, but extending LCA's operating season by 3 months isn't going to bring in huge numbers. And it would be very nice to get Malaga back, but an EMB-190 has around half the capacity of a B757-200
It's all 2 steps back, 1 forward. The positives are there, but outweighed by the negatives

There is still time for more to be announced by FR if they do intend to offer any more.. Im sure management will be working on it.

Now that BE are to open a base at EMA, could there be a slim chance of a return to HUY?

I can't see it makes any difference. EMA is about trying to capitalise on any potential bmi baby shutdown, attempting to takeover established markets

But at the same time possibly precluding growth from DSA, and possibly having another crew base not too far away. Im assuming the routes will be operated by EMB aircraft.
