The annual La Romana flight has been switched to Barbados, departing on 11th March 2012. Still connects with a cruise, but 'land based holidays' also offered

Thomson Holidays/ Airways have scrapped ALL Winter 2011 flights from Doncaster Sheffield Robin Hood Airport.
This is the bad news to be announced shortly.
Now Thomson have pulled out, I just wonder how much longer Doncaster will go on.

Would be devastating if true
Worth noting Kent International/Manston did keep going with no regular passenger flights apart from a summer JER/some Newmarket Holidays charters from 2005-9 though

why would thomson be increasing capacity next summer (2011 ) to then go pullout in the winter? they have very little competition at dsa. there have been rumours about thomson pulling out for a couple of years now. none have come true so far.

Only long haul appears to be on sale. However for what its worth on the First Choice site DSA can be selected as a departure point for Winter 2011/12, along with LBA, MME etc - however HUY as a summer only destination can not be selected

There is no evidence to suggest Thomson will pull their flights out of DSA next winter.

this news was supposed to be announced last week according to a guy on another forum. these rumours have been going round for 2 or 3 years now. thomson have the rule of the place at dsa, peronally i can't see why they'd leave when they have little or no competition. they're increasing capacity in s11, so why would they then leave in winter11/12? it doesn't make sense to me. i suspect it's a bit of mischief making by someone. if this person is "in the know" he shouldn't be coming on forums like this & spouting what is confidential material until the point of release.

Writing crap like that is the reason your site got taken down, despite the lies you have said about not knowing the real reason, and im delighted its gone

im afraid what you've just written is just as bad as the "crap " the other person wrote! whatever your feelings about egcn forum, the site had alot of members. well over 1000. ok the discussions got chopped at times for no reason ( nothing wrong with healthy debate ) but im sure the vast majority of members on that site were sad to see it go.

How sad can you get. This person may not have been a member of the forum you are obviously missing, so lay off them unless you have proof.
They may full well have inside info - we dont know yet.
We dont need people as low as you on here, so toddle on.
