Interesting Tony Lavan suggested winter flights, apparantly not long ago he said in a staff forum that winter flights were'nt on the agenda at the moment due to costs or something i think. Yes, the way I understood that comment was that the costs of having to employ aditional staff for one or two weekly B737 or similar flights a week were too much (The odd Lapland flight I guess can be covered by overtime). But Ryanair would probably not do more than two flights a week in winter

I suppose if they can get five or six weekly flights, like they used to have, then it maybe more viable?
Ryanair bring opportunities for year round destinations. TFS and LPA spring to mind, and im sure they would sit comfortably next to DSA, if FR have any intention of expanding further.

Have to say we could'nt have hoped for better flight times. I was dreading a 7am departure from ALC, but these times should prove a hit!
I really think ALC will do well, and will encourage FR to add Malaga and Tenerife for starters.

Read the full article; www.routesonline.com/news/36/the-hub/98662/ryanair-returns-to-manchester/One or two discrepancies, as Ryanair have already attempted a route from the airport so its not the first time. There are also already flights to Palma too. FlyBE did not technically drop the Malaga route either, they completed the full allocation of flights at very good loads... Interesting to see MoL say that this was not an MAG deal and was a seperate approach by Humberside. Hopefully this will do well, and more will follow in due course.

Just checked the prices, it seems that assuming £29.99 each way (advertised fare), add to that all the charges and a 15 kilo bag and it will be around £150 return... Were'nt the BE flights to AGP going for just under £200?
I would pay this to go from HUY (hopefully will be doing this summer), you can get some very good prices on villas in the Alicante area, makes for an excellent short break.

He said the number of routes would be reduced from October if the dispute is not sorted out, so it should'nt effect HUY.

Speaking on the RH Breakfast show today, Andrew Earle. Hull Ind. travel agent., said that the flights to ALI are selling vey well., and said it showed that there is always demand at HUY for this type of flight.

What time was that on approx john? Hopefully these flights will prove it once and for all, even though BE seemed to prove it last year.

Ryanair have changed the timings on their Saturday Alicante flight. They now look like this:

The Tuesday flight times remain the same.
09:20 Alicante - Humberside 11:05 11:30 Humberside - Alicante 15:15

Just a couple of weeks before these start now, HAT have been giving them a big push, as has the airports own website. Hopefully they will prove the demand and FR sticka round longer than BE..
