NEW FLIGHTS TO TUNISIA FROM NORWICH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WITH THOMAS COOK AIRLINES
Norwich Airport can now offer great value for money holidays to Tunisia, thanks to Thomas Cook Airlines, who will be flying direct from Norwich on Sundays, from 07 March 2010 for 6 weeks, in one of their B757s.
It is a relatively short flight to this North African destination which can be reached from the UK in less than three hours. Flights are to Monastir, one of the filming locations for the Monty Python feature film Life Of Brian. Monastir Airport serves all of Tunisia's resorts.
Tunisian holidays offer everything from relaxation on powder-soft beaches and journeys across the Sahara Desert to scuba diving on the Mediterranean coast, exploring ancient Roman ruins and haggling in one of the many bazaars for specialties like jewelleries, clothes and crafts. Behind excellent beaches and low-rise hotels lies a country of great variety. Green mountains, rivers and lakes dominate the north, while the south is ruled by the sand dunes of the Sahara Desert and concealed in the country's interior are caves, gorges, waterfalls and lakes to explore. Tunisia has good golf courses of international standards which are spread extensively and give you the opportunity to explore some of the beautiful sights.
The Tunisian year is marked by several important religious festivals including Nabeul's Orange Blossom Festival in April. April is also when Berber tribesman from all over southern Tunisia arrive in Tatouine to take part in the Ksar Festival, a five-day event involving a variety of activities such as equestrian games, camel races, and representations of Berber weddings.
Elliott Summers, the airport’s Managing Director commented: “Tunisian holidays represent great value for money out of the Euro Zone, and Thomas Cook is offering a wide range of Tunisian holidays from Norwich Airport, including tours and desert safaris in the Sahara, twin centres and beach stays. We are very pleased Thomas Cook Airlines will be offering these springtime departures from Norwich, giving passengers even more choice from their local airport.”
