A rule of thumb is that large organisations tend to have high administration costs. It could well be that these will be reduced given a 'leaner', more specialised and focussed administration.

In yesterday's Independent an article stated, in connection with Ryanairs proposal to buy into Stansted, that the CAA was opposed to any airline controlling more than 5-10% of an airport's equity. I wonder , if this is really the case, how Eastern managed approval to buy HUY?

Theres probably discretion applied, and HUY is only a small and insignificant airport in the greater scheme of things.

New signage - with the new 'Easternised' logo - is now above the terminal entrance and on some road signs

Companies House today published a termination notice of the appointment of Richard James Lake as a director of Humberside International Airport Limited. It was dated 23rd April 2020.

Does anyone know if Eastern still have a stake in the ownership of HUY?

I'm pretty sure the Bristow Group is the majority shareholder now, with N Lincs Council retaining its minority stake.

Thanks. I thought I had read that somewhere but wasnt sure. Wonder what this could mean for passenger route development.

I think hanging on to KLM and the existing charters after things get back to some kind of normality is the best the airport can hope for now. The downturn in the oil industry probably means Bristow will be focussing efforts on protecting their main interests rather than the operations at HUY. At least there is the SAR base and the heliport - other airports reliant on leisure traffic are going to struggle for a while.
