For the last few recent years, it seemed that any small, ad-hoc cargo charters had been dealt with by JOTA, under some sort of tacit agreement with the airport for them to so do. Now that relations between JOTA and LSA, appear to be, less than on the same hymn sheet, does anyone know whether any other arrangements are in place to enable such small, just in time type cargo flights to be accepted and handled? It would be sad if this was another once thriving area for the airport, that was not available to become a decent line of business again. I appreciate the difficulty with the 10% quota on cargo flights, but surely those under 19 tonnes could be excluded for these purposes, as the CAA does, when compiling cargo flight data for airports.
Talking about CAA reporting, why is the airport not including the Amazon cargo flights in the monthly airport data returns to the CAA? Or is it the CAA not picking it out correctly? (unlikely, I would have thought).
