LOGANAIR LAUNCHES NEW NORWICH TO GUERNSEY SUNDAY SERVICE
Flights for 2013 seasonal service to the English Channel holiday destination on sale now
Flybe franchise partner Loganair Ltd has today (Wednesday, December 19) announced it will commence services between Norwich and Guernsey from April 2013.
The seasonal Sunday service is expected to be popular with English holidaymakers and will operate from April 28 until September 29 next year with tickets going on sale today.
Loganair will take over the route in 2013 from franchise partner Flybe following approval from the States of Guernsey earlier this month.
Fares to Guernsey will start from £69.99 one-way and bookings will include all taxes and a free checked bag up to 20kgs in weight.
Customers will also benefit from a generous 6kg cabin baggage allowance, a choice of complimentary on-board snacks and refreshments served in-flight and will be able to make use of an extended season on the route – from 19 Saturday flights in 2012 to 23 Sunday flights in 2013.
Loganair passengers will also continue to benefit from Flybe’s Rewards4All loyalty programme on the Norwich to Guernsey service.
Phil Preston, Loganair chief operating officer, said: “We are delighted to announce that Loganair will operate from Norwich to Guernsey from next April.
“I am confident that our combination of convenient flight times, excellent punctuality and competitive fares will ensure we provide a first-class seasonal Sunday service to and from the island of Guernsey next year.”
Outbound flights from Norwich International Airport depart 2.50pm; arriving in Guernsey at 4pm. Flights from Guernsey Airport depart 4.30pm and land in Norwich at 5.40pm.
Andrew Bell, chief executive of Norwich International Airport, said: “Guernsey, as last year’s busy flights proved, is a destination that is highly sought after by holidaymakers in East Anglia and we are delighted that Loganair has taken the opportunity to meet this demand by operating the route in 2013.”
Beverley Scarr, Premier Holidays’ general manager, short haul, said: “Guernsey is one of Premier Holidays’ top destinations and we are delighted Loganair will be operating this route in 2013.
“As the market leader to the Channel Islands we are all too aware of the importance of regional departures and Norwich is an airport particularly supported by the locals.
“We work closely with a number of key agencies in the East Anglia area and based on the success of route on previous years, we are confident it will sell well.”
