I have checked the online booking system and nothing can be booked from 7th April 2014. Humberside also doesn't appear on the route map.
One thing however is that the route can be booked again online from Mon 27 Oct 2014. It is available Mon to Fri and Sunday - 6 days.

A press-release from SAS or HUY (or both) would be helpful in order to clarify the situation. I agree with Humberside on the way in which employees can only interpret what a computer system has put in front of them. Let us hope that SAS have not left the winter programme in by mistake. Perhaps a negative press-release is considered inappropriate on the day of the Siemens decision. If I was not an avid reader of 'Air Humberside Forums', I would have known nothing about our flight cancellation. As it is, I am told that I can expect our refund within 10 days.

Today, SAS has disappeared from the 'Airlines and Tour Operators' section of the HUY website. The Humberside winter schedule is still showing in the booking and timetable sections of the SAS website.

Still on sale from 26/10 on various sites including the airport , SAS and Skyscanner. It's a long time to leave on sale in error when the summer period has been fully erased but it's very possible. The HUY site however has been largely cleared of reference to the route though - maybe in readiness for an announcement of clarification.
As previously posted, all the wind farm related projects have got started much later than anticipated and the Able Marine Energy Park development (by far the largest and likely to attract a variety overseas investors) has been dragged into the planning appeal process. Maybe, just maybe, SAS plan to re-launch in October when more will have started to happen in this sector.

Interesting piece on Radio Humberside from Paul Litten today. Three reasons for the service "suspension" ( he used that term) in essence:
1) Not the best destination in Denmark. Billund is the place where it is all happening. (Note the onward connection to Billund requires an over-night in Copenhagen with the current SAS flight times.)
2) For, quote, "various reasons" reasons SAS were not able to provide a reliable service on the route and would not be able to this summer. As people have said before on this route, business people need to know they are going to get to that meeting!
3) As a result of the above, and competitive pricing, KLM has picked-up the increase in trade with their better reliability and connectivity into Billund. He quoted an 18% increase in KLM's passengers to Denmark from HUY.
It would have been better to have another outcome. However, as Humberside posted previously, the passenger growth is taking place nevertheless.

It was just after the 8am news. I think there have been subsequent interviews during the day - maybe something on Look North tonight also.
The snipet of Paul Litten on the Radio Humberside news at 5pm was quite bullish about Eastern and KLM meeting the traffic growth demand as well as new operators showing interest. Also, Martin Vickers MP was critical about SAS's reliability on the route and their failure to give it a longer period to improve. He was even able to quote the precise number of cancelled flights which shows he had been well briefed on the issues the airport want to get across!

HUY-CPH no longer appears to be bookable on the SAS website after October (It is in the timetable, but I cannot seem to allow it to search for the flights in the booking engine anymore). To me, this would suggest the worst.

As mrmoose says on the April 2014 statistics thread, it is somewhat ironic that the highest average load factor (34%) was in the final week of operation. It is also ironic that the service was suspended just as the tourist season was starting. LBA has enjoyed a 10% higher load factor, but their route has benefited from lower fares, a summer operating season, fewer cancellations and a lower frequency. A further irony is that, in April, the HUY route had been increased to 6 per week (although one flight was cancelled at short notice). The load factor on the route could surely be increased by reducing the frequency to the 3 or 4 busiest days. Copenhagen is an attractive and interesting city. It is perceived as being expensive, but the hotels offer better value than can be found in Paris or London. There would be a steady tourist demand if the service operated during the warmer months. If SAS are to re-activate the route, they must guarantee that advertised services will not be cancelled because the aircraft has been used on another route at the last moment. A cancellation rate of 13.3% is not acceptable. To serve the wind-turbine industry, the alternative to a Copenhagen route would be one to Esbjerg or Billund. Humberside has had a viable route (serving the oil industry) to Esbjerg, which ran for over 10 years. A turbo- prop would probably be adequate (presumably SAS use more expensive equipment in order to cut journey times on the longer route and to provide a seamless network service). Candidates to provide such a service would be Eastern Airways and Billund-based Sun-Air (who operate as a British Airways franchisee using Dornier 328 aircraft).

I seem to remember reading that SAS is withdrawing from LBA. Is this so, or just my memory playing tricks?

There are suggestions on another forum that SAS are to end their Copenhagen / Newcastle service. CPH/NCL was a route which they started shortly before commencing their CPH/HUY route.
