There is an interesting twist to this tale. www.planespotters.net/Production_List/British-Aerospace/BAe-146/E2047. Or Google BAe146 N880PA From this website, assuming their information is accurate, its initial U.S.registration in Feb 2013 when it was ferried SEN-MSE was to a "private" operator. It was only registered to Southern Aircraft Consultancy as recently as 19 June 2014. Expressfight, in a previous post, you hoped there would not be difficulties in putting it back on the UK register. Did you have any specific reasons for that comment ? Had you heard of previous difficulties with aircraft involved in this kind of trustee arrangement ?

It wasn't so much that I anticipated specific problems but more a case of it having been an odd aircraft to chose in the first place. Restoring an aircraft to the register is always going to have potential pitfalls if it has been operated privately in between times. From what I can gather it was the attractive operating arrangement that was on offer which attracted Jota to this particular aircraft.

JOTA having established they had a use for this type of aircraft and I understand they have now trained aircrew,or have they since layed them off are they going to pursue this aircraft or lease an airframe from another company, unless they are stuck in a contract with Avman but I cant see this being the case as surely it has been foreit by the no-show of the RJ by now.

Why not consider the former Ford Avro sitting at SEN, G-OFMC....?

The latest news on the 146-200 at MSE is that the main prerequisite for restoring the aircraft to the UK register seems about to be achieved so maybe things will move ahead shortly. Hopefully something might actually happen this time!

The Jota Bae146-200, ex-G-OZRH and more recently N880PA, was registered as G-SMLA yesterday to Meteor Aero of Devizes.
Hopefully its UK C of A will be issued in the next few days following an airtest and completion of the paperwork.

Jota have issued a news release implying that the 146 will be operational shortly. They say the issue of their Type A licence is imminent.... as it was in April. The aircraft will operate in 95-seat configuration initially with the 60-seat option available at the end of the year. They also say that at the BGAD event at Cambridge next month they will talk about their "exciting" (that word again!) future plans.
Meanwhile the latest review date for the C of A issue has passed without any visible result. Apparently the 146 was seen taxying on the airfield at MSE last week.
There has been no recent mention of the Learjet 60 they were promoting on their website a few months ago. It looks as if the arrangement with its owners was short lived.
