Hello, here's a random one for anybody with a good memory. I was looking for some information on the Hispania flights in the 80s and came across this photo from 1978 of a Sterling Caravelle - as per my comment on the photo I'm pretty sure it's at Humberside, but any info would be appreciated. Cheers. www.aviationphotocompany.com/p651227635/h3F835979#h3f835979

I'm afraid I can't offer any knowledge, but it certainly looks like Humberside.

Yes, it is Humberside. Taken October 1978. I have it on slide taken from the other side. Some sort of shipping event, DFDS terminal opening maybe?

I remember that hangar from when I went for my first trial flight when I was about 12, I believe Air Yuk had it then .. Made way for the extended apron in the mid 90's I believe..? Still, it shows how much development has gone on at the airport since then, Shane the number of flights is probably around the level it was then.

The Hispania flight was very late evening (on a Friday?) and often late into the early hours, hence lack of photos.

In the absence of any airport activity at the moment, could anyone help with a query?
I was working at HUY in the late 1990s and remember a very unusual visitor (before Doncaster took most of the airport's business) - a HeavyLift Antonov. Could anyone confirm if it was an Antonov An-124 or the bigger 225? This was in the days before mobile phones with cameras, but I do remember it only just managed to turn around at the threshold for an impressive departure! I think it would have been 1997 or 1998.
Thanks
