Just out in the garden and heard deep, Chinook-sounding, rotor traffic transitting HUY north to south. But when I looked up it looked more like a fixed wing silhouette but with big props? I can only assume it was a Bell/Boeing Osprey. Switched on the radio to hear Radar talking to American flight crew saying they could not hand him over to Conningsby so to stay with Radar for another 10 miles then contact Lakenheath! Do they operate Ospreys in UK?

There are a number of Ospreys based at Mildenhall, so most likely one of those that you saw.

I think this has become a regular run. Saw one going back southbound at 21.50 last night and saw one going northbound tonight at 19.48. So watch out for it going over southbound between 21.00 and 22.00 tonight.
