[a On going through some old photographs recently, this Cimber Air Nord 262 turned up from 1988. Unfortunately the photo is well below richie's standard: my excuse is that rain on the window was responsible! Cimber Air took over AirUK's Humberside-Esbjerg route (which had been inaugurated by Genair, who failed in 1984) with an additional one-stop service to Sonderborg. They built up the passenger numbers to 6,500 per annum before handing it over to Newair who usually achieved about 5,000. The Nord 262 was rather slow and on that day took an hour and three quarters to travel the 400 mile journey. The Turbomeca Bastan turboprops produced a noise level in the passenger cabin that sounded more like a piston engine.
