Early this Sunday morning, a collision took place between two loaded tankers at an anchorage five miles off the mouth of the Humber. The vessels involved were the Phillips Oklahoma and the Fiona. Several thousand tons of crude oil were spilt. Air Atlantique responded by sending their fleet of DC3 and Islander aircraft from Coventry. AirUK had two SD360 aircraft based at Humberside. They were used on the Heathrow and Amsterdam routes. Skyrover had successfully inaugurated a Humberside-Dusseldorf service which operated twice daily on weekdays. Loads had justified a capacity upgrade from a Bandeirante to a SD330. Unfortunately, demand fell later that winter. Attachments:
