Sure I had that timetable somewhere back in the day! - The summer I first got into Aviation, after flying on MON7444/5 Humberside to Majorca operated by A320 G-MONZ back in May 1995, 25 years ago!!
Keep em coming, really interesting stuff, if not slightly depressing to see how busy it used to be!

Indeed Mrmoose. I well remember the occasional trip up to Caistor Road after school or in the holidays to see charter flights arriving with a mate and his dad. That obsession never went away and we both ended up working in aviation!
Air Malta, Futura, Airtours etc.. Other names I can’t recall now. Do remember the Eurodirect Jetstream operating the BRU. The friendships and F50’s of Air UK. Vaguely also recall the short lived Eurodirect ATP operating. Then of course Gill in Air France livery with their ATR’s to CDG. Then the oft rumoured request by TNT for 24hour access and a fledgling easyJet looking to start somewhere cheap and relatively unknown, both sent away empty handed. What could have been!
2004 when things were looking up to just a few years later and barely any charter flights at all. Shame to see what’s happened, but some consolation that the site has developed quite significantly since then and hopefully will continue to do so! Certainly Eastern seem bigger than ever, long may it continue in our backyard!

I always preferred the far end of Car Park 1 over the Lane, before the new heliport was built over part of it. Although not free, or even cheap, even in those days - it always felt very very close to the aircraft, and comparable with the airport hotel at Manchester. I remember the Spanair MD83s often set off car alarms

Winter 1996/1997 inside pages only. This shows how quickly the winter charter flight passenger capacity had been built up from a standing start, the runway extension only having been available since 1992.

The other point to note is that the scheduled routes have, (until the Covid -19 emergency), been relatively thriving. Note that in Winter 1996/97 there were only two weekday Aberdeen flights. Amsterdam weekday capacity was four Fokker 50 (200) compared with two E175 and an E190 (276).

Keep them coming! Wish i’d saved all my old ones now! I remember there used to be an airport magazine and they had a table with all the holiday flights, up to 35 flights a week in it’s busiest ever season!

You need a scanner (I use an Epson scanner that will also scan colour slides, photographs and negatives which are turned into positive digital pictures). For printed literature,a multi purpose copier, printer, scanner would do just as well.
Scan the literature into the computer and save in 'my pictures' or 'gallery'.
Start a post on the forum and click on 'add attachments'. This opens up a button to 'add files'. By clicking this various options appear including 'my pictures' or 'gallery'. Open this and find the newly scanned work all together in there as it will not have been put into folders. Click on the chosen image. They can be a bit difficult to identify as they are only thumbnail size . When the chosen image is clicked on, it will upload the file to the forum (up to 1000kb size). This will take a few seconds. When done, click on 'insert'. If the file is too big, make a smaller image by editing to produce two or three smaller images from the original. Note that reducing the size of the image by chopping a blank space off the bottom actually makes the file bigger! This is because the remaining image is automatically enlarged, which uses more data. Each post will take up to three attachments.
Hope this helps!
