Hull presumably being Brough Aerodrome back in 1968, sadly civilian flights were stopped with the building of Cappa Pass chimney in 69/70.

There is a well-researched article on civil aviation services from R.A.F. Leconfield on the beverleyfm.com website (search under /history/Beverley International Airport). Included is this photograph of an Autair Herald at Leconfield.

The above article also has this photograph of a Humber Airways Islander. Humber Airways had been set up (by Ellerman's Wilson Line) to continue a London service when Autair changed their identity to Court Line in order to fly solely I.T. charters for operators such as Clarksons. I vaguely remember that Humber Airways switched to Kirmington before it was formally opened as an airport. The London destination was at Leavesden near Watford. On one occasion, I happened to be in Leavesden some time in 1971 and I saw a Humber Airways Islander land. Acknowledgement also to timetableimages.com

Many of the Amsterdam passengers on Air Anglia's services would have reached the airport by paddle steamer. Acknowledgement to paddlesteamers.info

Nice to see the Aberdeen Airways G1s in the Spurnair leaflet. I've got a vague recollection of Brown Air operating the same aircraft to Frankfurt and Oslo (originating in Leeds), possibly around 1987 or 1988?

The earliest KLM timetable with flights to the region, dated 1934. The destination airport was the earliest predecessor to Humberside, six miles East of Hull at Hedon. Acknowledgement to timetableimages.com

The KLM route was inaugerated on 1st June 1934 and was operated (as shown in the Hedon photo with the East Yorkshire charabanc) by a Fokker F.XII. The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision has a two minute video of the Schiphol ceremony and take-off. It is available on blog.europeana.eu Acknowledgements to picclick.co.uk and airhistory.net

Air UK was formed in 1980 when British and Commonwealth Shipping merged Air Anglia with British Island Airways. This is a regional edition of their first timetable. Unfortunately, MME was misspelt, so it was replaced with a second edition the very next day! It featured the introduction of the Humberside-Norwich-Heathrow service which was dropped the following year and taken over by the newly-formed Eastern Airways (Mark 1). Eastern then merged with Casair and Genair to form the Humberside-based Genair who flew in association with British Caledonian. When Genair failed, Air UK reclaimed the Heathrow route and also took over the Esbjerg service. HUY had a based F27 operating twice daily to Heathrow and once to Aberdeen. There was also a Bandeirante doing three Glasgow rotations via Teesside.
