You do wonder what input (if any) the North Lincolnshire Council portfolio holder for the airport has had, and has anyone been giving them complaints? I expect they have drank the Doncaster Kool Aid and are just letting Bristow get on with whatever they are doing. From what I gather in the way Bristow operate, it can take months to have anything approved as they are so detached from the Airport. Completely eradicates any adaptability or flexibility.

Heard some bad things going on the other day from someone at work. No interest from either Bristow or North Lincolnshire Council in investing anything to keep the place competitive. Belief in some quarters that the airport is purposefully underfunded. When you consider that DSA resurrection might actually happen I can only see things going one way unfortunately. If they get Vinci in to run DSA (they are hotly tipped to be one of the interested parties) then we can say goodbye to KLM and the near 50 year constant operation of the HUY-AMS.
Woeful performance all round, the staff are right to be concerned.

Not a clue. I understand some investment has gone in to new X-ray machines (ex-DSA) and fire engines and runway end lights. Presumably out of the budget with little input from Bristow. Airport like Humberside needs cash pumping into it, and a renewed sense of ambition. Operating hours are highly restrictive and with the price of everything seemingly climbing due to lack of sufficient business then I think they’re hanging on to KLM with a hair. Such a sad situation.

There was a small picket line - about 7 or 8 - by the entrance roundabout this morning. No obvious major disruption today

The first HUY-ABZ round trip was cancelled today, but that may have been related to Scottish School Holidays. Otherwise AMS, Palma and the other ABZ seem to have operated as normal. Eastern also had G-CMEI visit from SOU for crew training

In their 13.30 news bulletin, BBC Look North reported that strike action has been suspended while fresh talks take place.
