DUB would be far easier to as a w pattern than Spain due to the short flying time. However I don't see it hapenning - there maybe a market from the area to DUB but as FR and EI/RE have shown it isn't that strong, and it isn't easy to make work. Short of a BE base, which I don't see hapenning, I can't see BE wantiang to try a 'difficult' short haul market between two insignificant airports in their route network

Rumour on pprune is that the Malaga service will continue throughout the winter!!!.
Hope this is true as it would be brilliant for the airport to have something other than Amsterdam and Aberdeen in winter.

This seems very far fetched to me, surely it would be too late to put these flights on sale now?
Still, would be great (and encouraging) if it were to happen.

Unless the service just operated over Christmas, or restarted in February, it is getting very late to put it on sale

As posted on the charter thread, this is probably a wild rumour, but an extended operating season next year could certainly be possible...
As a matter of interest, how does BE utilize its EXT based 195's during the winter?

Not entirely sure. They do have a few flights a week to AGP/ALC/FAO but I suspect they will spend part of their time parked up

Article from the Scunthorpe Telegraph - it's a bit of a joke really, but does contain an interesting quote Nothing about yields off course but Flybe must be quite happy at least for the CCO to start making such positive public statements And did you know, according to the Scunthorpe Telegraph The article also refers to passenger numbers at BHX/EMA, and to EMA's falling profits, yet makes no reference to HUY. It wouldn't be the best publicity for HUY but such an omission does not exactly give any journalistic credibility to the article www.thisisscunthorpe.co.uk/news/new-route-s-really-taken/article-2573387-detail/article.html

All positive stuff!
It MUST mean BE will increase their sun route offering next summer.
Fingers crossed!

Beat me to it A-H! There are a few discrepancies but still its all good stuff if you ignore that.
If BE dont do something next year i bet someone else will! The water has been tested now and it has been proved that flights like these do work.
Re. year on year growth, i bet they just have a template for airports news or something, just add the usual spin to make the article bigger. Clearly they forgot they were talking to HUY not DSA.

Not sure whether this means anything or not, but BE have put May/June sun routes from EXT and SOU on sale for next summer. HUY is not there, and the SAT SOU-AGP-SOU timings do not suggest a 'W' pattern.
Hope it isn't being dropped!

Mike

Who knows, its early days for BE considering they didnt announce AGP until January.
They could even be talking to someone else, safe in the knowledge that a seat only company has seen LF of 90% consistently over the summer. The MAG annual report hinted at BE being attracted as a 'tester' to see if the route would work.
Here is the quote posted by Humberside earlier in the thread..

Perfect opportunity for BE to announce something soon, after the EZY announcement to pull out of DSA.

I have just been to Antalya for a week, full both ways, in the airport going into security, ther was a large board giving destinations for 2011,and Malaga WAS ON IT, so we can presume it will be back, along with others, sadly nothing new showing.only Dubrovnik.

I wonder how they will do it next year, as SOU and EXT are on sale but do not allow for a w pattern.

Malaga has been removed from the HUY booking engine, lets hope if it appears again it will be with more Spannish destinations.
