Dublin is available for next Summer with Flybe 'mainline' 1xDaily (until early September as that is all that has been released so far). No Newquay nor Stobart Air flights showing in the timetable section yet

Nice to see a couple of LCY Flybe diverts arriving just now, Belfast and Inverness. Low cloud at City I guess?

Well they can't be surprised that fog occurs at LCY. It won't be the last time we see a Flybe divert from city airport.

Flybe have announced today a Newquay to Stansted service from next May 3 times a week, so that looks like another route gone from SEN. This and the recent cutbacks announced by Easyjet for Summer 15 and no sign as yet for any new operators/routes is not looking good for our airport for next year.

I have no firm basis for suggesting this but I wonder if the 'big announcement' rumoured recently for SEN was that they anticipated Flybe operating more routes from SEN rather than STN. If I was in the SEN marketing role I would feel pretty sick at this news as Flybe don't really seem to see SEN as being a LON leisure gateway despite them having said something along those lines when the launched their LCY routes.

Could SEN have 'lost out' to a Manchester Airport Group deal covering MAN, EMA, BOH and STN? i.e. STN just one part of a deal covering one of Flybe's largest bases (MAN), an important spoke (EMA) and a new base (BOH)

Flybe may have said they saw SEN as leisure gateway but soon after they then said they were planning to develop leisure routes from LCY. Apart from moving the NQY route to LGW ( the third daily NQY services of the start of W14) and starting the STN service for S15 they seem to have eased Stobart out of the EI code share on SEN-DUB. and effectively taken over control of the route. It did look to me that the route was being trashed, though to be fair a couple of the issues I raised in the Progress thread now may have been resolved, but damage may still have been done. There has been not one good word from Flybe in praise of SEN's potential on any of three opportunities they have had this year. I am concerned that Stobart could be placing themselves in a dangerous situation vis-a-vis Flybe, who could well be looking to take out and asset strip a smaller and weaker rival. The Flybe CEO's reply was pretty equivocal when asked recently if a take over of Stobart Air was a possibility. www.independent.ie/business/flybe-ceo-wont-rule-out-future-link-with-stobart-30703395.htmlDoes Flybe control the fare structure of the new Stobart routes or does it just market them using Stobart's own (Aer Arann ?) revenue model ?

As far as I know Stobart Air operate their six Flybe-branded routes at their own commercial risk so the fare structure will be Stobart's responsibility.

I think that Air Humberside may have a point. MAG have much greater leverage than Stobart and appear to have targeted SEN as an annoying little competitor that has to be put in its place. flyBE have never considered SEN as an attractive airport for them - I fail to see why; I believe they have made a mistake here. I wonder how easy they will find it to fill their aircraft from STN with their odd scheduling and from LCY with major competition on several routes? Maybe they will see SEN in a different light if they struggle from STN and LCY? I beleive that flyBE could operate succesful schedules to BFS and EDI from SEN - EZY have proved the demand is there. Other destinations such as Paris, Brussels, Copenhagen, Rotterdam would also be viable from SEN. Maybe Stobart Air will take some of these on - I really don't understand why they don't operate the EDI and BFS routes.
I think we are at a crucial time for SEN. The initial euphoria at reaching one million pax so swiftly has died away. EZY have lost interest and, whilst I think they will continue to base 3 aircraft at SEN, I doubt that they will introduce new routes for the next couple of years at least.
It's frustrating that SEN can't attract new operators, especially continental ones such as Wizz Air or Air Berlin, given the excellent facilities and excellent passenger response to the SEN experience. Are Stobart putting enough emphasis, and cash, into their marketing effort? It's a harsh, competitive, dog eat dog world in commercial aviation and flyBE may well be tempted to swallow Stobart Air, but SEN has some strong USPs which surely need to be emphasised repeatedly to airline executives.

I have been looking on the Flybe website today to possibly booking flights in the Summer period from SEN-DUB, when i looked at the prices from the start of the Summer season and indeed all the way through the Summer, they are all priced the same at over £400 return, well this cant be right, i wonder is this a fault in the system, if so they had better get it fixed very soon, or are we seeing the route axed by Flybe, which would not surprise me, especially as they operate about four flights a day from LCY-DUB.

Are we seeing a pattern here ? See my comments in the Progress thread for November, and this thread too.
