Bristow already have 6x S92As based up in Scatsta, Shetland for crew change flights, replacing AS332Ls.
There were recent rumours (again in PPRUNE Rotorheads) that they could be in for more 92s, PERHAPS based in ABZ. We shall see, as rumours sometimes don't come true. Or perhaps the 92s may be for other areas of the world, eg. Oz, or Gulf of Mexico, or Canada.
Interesting that Bristow seem happy with the performance of their 92s, as CHC Scotia, who operate 1x 92 in ABZ (G-CHCK) have had seemingly never-ending problems with theirs. CHC's was one of the earlier ones, so perhaps more teething problems that have not so far befallen the Bristow examples.
CHC themselves operate 92s in the SAR role up here too, & there have been problems allegedly with their range, one mission out of Stornoway had to return as the task offshore was too far away for them! A S61, it predecessor, had to carry out the rescue instead!!
