Some posters on Pprune are suggesting Eastern are in difficulty? Any truth in that? I personally believe a couple of posters are looking at them selling two J41s and putting 2 and 2 together to make 10.

They've been selling Jetstream 41's for ages, and while sure they have made cutbacks to parts of their network recently, they have improved, or added to, other parts. Nothing that, from the outside, seems to suggest any difficulties
There is a comment about the CAA on pprune, but without any further detail I'd be reluctant to take that seriously
I get the impression that Eastern is run very ruthlessly and therefore quite a few employees, or ex-employees might have some sour grapes

Times are tough in aviation just now, but I don't think Eastern are in any particular trouble.
They'll cut where they need to cut, & expand where they need to expand.
Not surprising that some J41s are surplus to requirements - some of them are getting long in the tooth anyway.
Neither HUY nor ABZ can afford T3 to be in trouble!
One thing I am quite surprised about - that Flybe haven't given them more trouble than they have, although not all T3 routes are necessarily suitable for competition. .

I suspect thats the reason why. 78 seat aircraft (Dash 8 Q400's) would be far too many seats for most Eastern routes
