ABZ was busy earlier this month, with traffic for the big oil industry bi-annual showpiece:
A record level of people passed through the terminals at Aberdeen Airport during this month’s Offshore Europe week.
More than 67,000 passengers from across the globe used the airport from September 3-10 – over 2000 more than the 2009 total.
And the airport recorded its biggest ever day of departures on Thursday, September 8 with 6623 passengers leaving the Granite City.
The airport’s operations director Carol Benzie said: “We were aware that the week went incredibly well, with months of planning going into the operation, but that compared to the number of passengers we welcomed and processed, I am amazed.
“The team here pulled out all the stops to deliver a first class result and it showed.
“It was a great team effort, with people from across the airport campus, and from across the many employers, helping each other to ensure we had no operational issues, no delays due to the number of passengers, great feedback and an increase in retail spend across the airport.”

Well done to them all...not LHR proportions, but good for ABZ!! ;D
