They haven't been selling them since before jetXtra were instructed to suspend sales, and they still aren't selling them now.
Its a week since the last article concerning jetXtra, and with time I'm getting more and more concerned that this has fallen flat.

Still advertised on HAT screen inside terminal, but haven't enquired. Rumoured that another flight MAY and I stress MAY be announced later this month but don't hold your breath.Where ?when? by whom? Not a clue. Never let the truth spoil a good rumour as they say.

Well hppefully the rumour comes to reality tugman, I tend to believe there may still be a chance for FR to come back but its getting a bit late for this summer I would think.
As for Jetxtra, it appears they have deleted the question asked of them regarding ATOL cover and all other comments to go with it on their facebook page.

Over two weeks and still no news.. He even appears to have stopped answering questions on the jetXtra facebook page. Cant be good surely, and surely they need a decent lead in time to ensure the flights sell ok?

I'm a little bit more optimistic. Middle of Feb., whilst not ideal, still provides 3+ months of lead-in time - providing they have effective marketing that its. Adequate for seat sales, maybe not so good for holiday packages though.
See what next week brings. The CAA's " in a week or so" would only refer to completing their processes - there might well have been other work to do.

Yes, could go either way though I fear. Though if it is something positive then I hope they at least make the website look more professional and trustworthy, as a friend of mine who was looking to book with them a few weeks ago was put off by the website. He said their current website could have been knocked up in a GCSE level IT class these days..

An update on facebook says that the website changes are just due to say 'when flights will go on sale'.. Sounds a bit vague to me, surely if he knew there was due to be good news it would be in his best interests to advertise it straight away?

Anyone heard anymore news about this?
This "website update" seems to be taking a suspiciously long time to me, it wouldn't surprise me if a fair few of the passengers already booked have started making alternative arrangements. Most of those looking to book will probably have gone somewhere else by now. Certainly in terms of reputation it will have done them a lot of damage and I can't see people rushing to book if the flights do ever manage to make it back on sale. Hopefully when this update comes through it will be good news, but that's looking less and less likely to me...

My money is still on the flights being put on sale again providing the ATOL has been extended by CAA. If it has, I guess Jetxtra need to be absolutely sure they can face down any legal threats from that other airline. Jetxtra's legal guys will be checking and double checking their website before it goes live again because they won't get another chance to re-launch.
Good luck to them. Let the market decide on Jetxtra not the law courts.!

The flights have been off sale for the best part of a month now.. If tberes a time they should be on sale by then you would think this week would be it? Its March next week, and for a new operator hoping to start in June it doesnt give tgem much time to get some marketing out there.

Looks dead in the water to me, unless there are talks for Autumn/Winter flights. For the airport management not to have contingencies and to be announcing just 5 regular holiday flights this summer is a very poor performance. I fail to see why we cannot broker some sort of deal to share flights with Manchester.Surely all their aircraft on all their routes are not full.

I suspect thats what they are trying to do, but it cant be an easy job for an airport in an economically deprived region to convince an airline to dip their toes in. Even when we are talking about the expertise that comes with a group like MAG.
I hope jetXtra can overcome their problems and prove us nay-sayers wrong. Whilst it wouldnt mitigate losses of FR and H4U and cutbacks by TCX it would help to reduce further year on year passenger losses. However with it now having been a month since the forced cessation of sales, and very little communication from jetXtra any positive movement is looking unlikely, its March next week afterall.

This issue now has the feel that there is a significant legal tussle going on. Between solicitors certainly and maybe even involving the courts -we just don't know. My sense is Jet2 are the instigators of continued problems because if it was the CAA they would have made their decision known by now and that would be clear.
No doubt we will know when the dust settles. The question is- will it settle in time for a summer service from HUY? Lets hope so.
